Korn/Ferry International's latest survey shows confidence in business leaders has fallen to its lowest level in a year during the second quarter.  Credibility had dropped 4 points in the second quarter to 74.

The trade gap in Canada suddenly widened in July to its broadest level since 1971, cramped by its neighbor to the South whose own trade gap narrowed 14%.

Weekly jobless claims reverse upward trend, drop 27,000 to 451,000 claims

Trending higher initial jobless claims reversed its course with the U.S. Department of Labor reporting 27,000 fewer claims for the week ending Sept. 3, 2010.  Total jobless claims for the week where 451,000.

Gold, silver production expected to surge

According to Natural Resources Canada, expenditures on mining exploration in Canada fell 47% in 2009 over the prior year, breaking an 8-year streak of record spending.  But with gold and silver prices rising, the holdback in mine expenditures is about to turn the corner, which in the U.S. the same may be true.

Hulk Hogan hospitalized

Wrestling star Hulk Hogan was admitted to the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla. on Monday complaining of back pain he says came from bending over to collect sea shells.  Hogan said spasms from his leg up to his hip finally forced him to face the pain and check himself into the hospital.
