(AXcess News) London - Its been reported that rap star Kanye West was arrested at his hotel in Gateshead, England early this morning after an altercation with a photographer outside a nearby night club.

Thanks to a quick-acting West, though arrested, UK police soon released the rap star without charging him in the altercation.

The altercation between West and the paparazzi took place outside a Newcastle City Center Nightclub, according to a Northumbria Police spokesperson.  At the time, Kanye West was arrested on suspicion of assault, though the UK police spokesperson would not confirm that it was in fact Kanye West that arrested.

The photographer said his nose was cut, requiring stitches, after he attempted to photograph Kanye West leaving the Tup Tup Club when the rapper became agitated, shoving the camera into his face.

Kanye West's spokespeople have not commented on the rapper's run-in with the UK paparazzi.
