Reid tied with Angle in Nevada Senate race, according to the latest poll
By Dave Porter
(AXcess News) Reno - Harry Reid and Sharron Angle are in a neck-and-neck race for the Nevada senate mid-term election according to the latest poll, with each candidate carrying 47% of voters polled.
Reid was considered at risk of losing his seat in the U.S. Senate earlier this year, though with a well-financed campaign and a Democratic political machine well-oiled against Republican candidate Sharron Angle, he has slowly crept up from 39% of the vote soon after Angle won the Republican Primary to 47% today.
Of course Reid's had an easy target in his opponent by repeatedly running TV commercials showing the GOP candidate saying she would abolish Social Security, calling it 'welfare' and only adding to Reid's fuel where more commercials with Angle saying she would abolish the Department of Education as well. Since that time, Angle has had to fight back impressions of being ultra-conservative, nearly radical in her thinking.
Yet Angle's 47% in the most recent poll marked the first gain since her primary win when she carried 50%, but that has steadily decreased and in July, Angle was down to 43%. So her attempts at fighting back against Reid's political attacks appear to be gaining ground.
