Attorney Andrew Ellis Paves His Own Legacy in the Legal Field

Please share this story:

Andrew Ellis has done well to establish his own name and recognition in the law industry, especially around Los Angeles where he operates. Legal expertise, though, runs in the family. His roots span into the 1930s with his uncle, famed attorney Emil K. Ellis.

How It all Started

Emil became a household name in 1930s New York when the state’s Supreme Court Justice Joseph Crater vanished. He was never seen again after getting inside a taxi. This was a time of immense scandal in the political field, and Justice Crater’s abrupt disappearance brought about conspiracies of blackmail, swindling, and murder.

The disappearance left Justice Crater’s wife Stella in financial hardship. It was Emil who successfully got the courts to declare Justice Crater legally dead, which allowed Stella to file on her husband’s life insurance claim.

Much of the fame around the case clearly surrounds the missing justice and the high-profile investigation that ensued. However, for those in the law industry, Ellis’ successful case highlights the pinnacle of his career and what it means to fight ardently on behalf of a grieving client.

The origins, though, started well before Emil. Andrew Ellis’s great-grandfather was the attorney for president Theodore Roosevelt at the turn of the century. He also founded the New York city law agency Ellis, which remained in operation until 1993.

The above cases made two members of the Ellis family one of the most popular lawyers of their day. Today, Andrew has made his own mark. Despite working out of Los Angeles, Ellis’ recognition in the industry spans nationwide.

Ellis represents clients from all walks of life. He has fought for countless individuals seeking monetary claim stemming from automobile accidents, medical malpractice, workplace injuries, and more. Ellis is also currently a distinguished member of the Diamond Level Honorary Board for the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Care. He also has a seat as a senior member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Law accolades aside, he also partakes in numerous charitable ventures and outreach programs. It’s his way of giving back to the people and influencing positive changes in the lives of young Los Angelenos.

Aside from Ellis’ legal background, which began at New Jersey’s Seton Hall University School of Law, he also served in the US Army.

Experienced Litigator

Today, Andrew Ellis heads Ellis Law Corporation, comprising of himself and other experienced litigators. Even the opposing counsel in court has described Ellis’ demeanor as “cordial and professional.”

Ellis took on his first litigation case just five months out of law school. While he and his team won the case, he admits the outcome was less than desirable, with the court awarding his client only $414. Since then, he has had far more success, including winning a $1 million settlement from the technology enterprise Corning Inc.

The legal profession runs in the Ellis family. Despite the recognition of his great-grandfather and uncle, Andrew has created a name for himself independent of his forebears.
