Depending on where you live you will most likely end up spending a ton of money just getting to the base of the mountain. There really are two seasons that the country Tanzania has year-round. They have the dry season which runs from July through October and the wet season which runs November through June. You can climb Mount Kilimanjaro at any time of the year but some people have their preferences.

During the dry season there is less of a chance for rain or snow to fall. This means that there is less of a chance for climbers to have to be prepared the changing weather conditions. Weather is usually great this time of year. During the dry season many people choose to come and climb Mount Kilimanjaro. This leads to overcrowding which in turn produces challenging climbing conditions. It is during these months that beginner climbers will come to enjoy the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

The Wet Season

Not every person likes the rain and the snow, but some do because there are fewer people around. They do have to prepare differently when it comes time to make the trip. They will have to bring with them rain and winter gear, sleeping bags, and other pieces of equipment needed to stay dry and warm. But at least they will not have hundreds of people marching through their campsite. During the rainy months is when you will see the more experienced climbers making the journey as the climbing conditions are more difficult to handle.
