Development of Mobile EHR Systems

Please share this story:

About 80% of clinicians have adopted the use of electronic healthcare records (EHR) which has in-turn created a nationwide healthcare IT infrastructure. Health-care data will almost immediately be reachable by use of typical software interfaces. As a result, office-based healthcare providers are in the process of linking these records to be accessible to mobile devices. Development of EMR systems is therefore inevitable.

This platform if well designed can be used to attain and exploit the prevailing EMR and mobile applications which have improved resources.
Initially, adoption of this system was met with resistance from clinicians and physicians since it featured products that had minimal input from them. The new structured mobile EHR systems were therefore structured to reuse services that can retrieve and store mobile applications which have no issues working with EMRs.

The development of mobile EHR systems involves a structural based mobile solution involving four steps which included:

i. Structural construction of a server
This involves two main parts. First, it’s the server-side part that executes the roles of service management for EHR, documentation of information exchange and menu allocation which depends on user permission and automatic structure of clinical documents conversion. The second part is the consumer side part.

ii. Screen layout and the making of a storyboard
Here, a target choice of screen is made. It is important to collect concepts concerning usage of mobile appliances within potential users in order to make an appropriate choice. Having a larger screen is more efficient since it makes data entry more manageable.

iii. Design and development of screen user interface(UI)
Adopting user-friendly screens is one main consideration during this step. Ensure to design a simple menu and icons that can easily be interpreted in order to capitalize on continuous usage of the EHR system source records. In addition, the user interfaces should be larger and more intuitive to enable multipage use like zooming or signing.

iv. Undertaking a pilot assessment and progressive deployment
The objective of the pilot trial involves a physician’s schedule, EHR documents, not forgetting the test results. A specified number of hours of clinical observation information are also put into place.

A successful mobile EHR system if deployed correctly in any hospital setting will generally improve patient’s satisfaction scores in addition to being convenient. Most physicians are often unsatisfied whenever they spend so much time using EHR systems, for this reason, most health care providers have adopted the use of EHR systems in the exam rooms to avoid time wastage.

Physician’s quality score is often determined by patient satisfaction, therefore, introducing systems that guarantee customers satisfaction which will make your patients respond positively during their visits. Meeting any threats related to effectiveness, precision, value, security, discretion, and safety by use of these developing EHR systems for health data automation will improve point of care and new innovations that can easily connect patients from wherever they are to their healthcare records.
