The Best TV Shows to Binge Watch

With so many amazing t.v. shows available for viewing pleasure, it can be difficult to settle on just one. But who says you have to? Just think about having a Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal show, a Friday night with a glass of wine show, and many more in between.

But when you open up your couch and t.v. to, well, anyone other than yourself, think beyond personal streaming preferences. Like, will mom really want to watch Game of Thrones when she’s up for the weekend? And will your significant other understand your obsession with The Great British Baking Show? Probably not.

With that in mind, here are the best tv shows to binge watch with all the different people in life.

With Parents: House Hunters

Ok, so maybe your friends adore Chip and Joanna and have even jumped on the tiny house bandwagon, but not many people are down to watch an entire morning’s worth of House Hunters. Do you know who is, though? Your parents.

So the next time you visit your mom and dad are in town, be sure to check HGTV’s schedule to see when House Hunters comes on, unless your parents already have it memorized, that is.

With Friends: You

Sure, you could always go with crowd-pleasers like Brooklyn Nine-Nine or New Girl when your friends are partaking in your binge-fest, but what are friends for if not to make you feel slightly more at ease in life’s scariest moments? You know, like when you think someone’s breaking into your house, but it’s really just a strong gust of wind. Or when you’re watching a particularly unsettling tv show, like the new Netflix original, You.

But most importantly, if you don’t watch You with your pals, who’s going to jokingly correct you when keep calling Joe, “Dan”?

With Significant Others: How I Met Your Mother

If you’ve yet to watch How I Met Your Mother, this might be the perfect show to binge with your significant other. The show follows the story of a father who spends nine seasons telling, and showing, his children the crazy journey that finally led him to their mother.

If you give HIMYM a try, expect the best of both worlds. You’ll laugh your socks off at least 25 times per episode, but you’ll also shed a tear or two by the time you get through all nine seasons.

And who knows, maybe you’ll even be inspired to go as Robin and Ted or Lilly and Marshall when Halloween rolls around. Here’s some inspiration … just in case.
